Peggy, Reginald, Lily, Curly, turtles and wild weather

Gerry: From farm to acreage in Buccan with a beautiful Yoga studio to use whilst we were there. This should have been heaven but a few freak storms that came through created havoc on top of extreme heat and very little rain. It got pretty wild.

We had undertaken our very first house sit together next door at Phil and Jill’s acreage property and we had met Karen by attending her yoga classes. Peggy was a 10 month old puppy, labrador/border collie cross (should never be allowed!). So much energy, with so much love and friendship, she stole the show. Reggie just came along for the ride on the back of her whirlwind. Great memories.

Jacky: When we lost the power I felt a little uneasy as I did not even know where the candles were! When we called Jill to ask how long she thought we’d be without power, she said it had been three days last time! We asked about flushing the loos as they ran on electric pumps. We were advised that buckets and the swimming pool were our best option.  But a few hours later the power was back on and apart from Peggy chewing a nice hole in the edge of Gerry’s yoga mat, we were unscathed.

Peggy was adorable but such a challenge. She could walk for miles, eat anything in sight, including a big chunk of Gerry’s very expensive yoga mat and her 4.30am whining to go for a walk were a bit much as I was working and travelling very long days at that time.  But Reginald and Lily the cat made up for it. Reg was a typical faithful Shitzu and followed me everywhere. Slept under the bed in a little bed and would not arise until I was up and about.  Lily the wonder cat seemed to break her tail somehow and Gerry did the emergency vet visit while I was at work.  Lily was on meds for a week and the power of Reiki of course. So we soon got her tail lifting again.

Reiki to the rescue again when Peggy and Gerry discovered a tawny frogmouth baby that had fallen out of a tree.  It was pretty lifeless when Gerry got it home but I Reiki’d away as we drove to the vet and they immediately put it under a heat lamp and said once healed it would go back to the wild.

Thanks, Karen and Gary for your generosity and thanks for letting me dress your tree for Christmas!  We loved using the studio and doing classes with real live people after being online with our yoga for so long.  The students were so keen and we even managed to slot in a meditation night and a one day workshop for a corporate client of mine. So a fulfilling stay in many ways.
