Preston – Catching up with family and friends

There is nothing more tranquil than a late summer evening in the heart of the English countryside.

Breaking News – The Frozen North has melted with soaring temperatures and endless sunny days🌞

Preston is the largest city in the county of Lancashire, and historically was a major port and industrial centre. It is one of the few cities that has an “old northern” culture, with many words of the Lancashire dialect still in use. Preston is in The Duchy of Lancaster.

It is also my brother’s home and where his two sons reside.  So we were really fortunate to intersperse our house sitting commitments with visits back and forth to Preston to stay at Duncan’s place (Tim’s youngest.) He was away at the RAF base in Coningsby during the week so a lot of the time we had the place to ourselves.  It appears that had worked very hard to get his new place (a renovators dream!) into a clean and carpeted home by the time we got there and we were most appreciative!
