Gerry: We visited Brett, Charlie and Brew just before we started their house sit as we were on the Sunshine Coast. We met Charlie and Brew on the beach as Brew is a rescue dog and can be sensitive to strangers in his home. He was quite an unusual looking dog as you will see from the pictures. For a male rescue dog, he had such a soft nature. He loved going to the beach and so do we, great match. There were quite big seas while we were here so we didn’t get into the water much but we had great weather.

We did a bit of looking around on the southern end of the Sunshine Coast, which is quite different from the northern end. We went to Currumundi Lake and filmed some instructional Yoga videos. This was such an inspiring location as there is a tea tree lake that feeds into the ocean. We could film from the sandbar or dunes looking over the lake or back towards the ocean. Also there was a really strong current from the lake on the outward tide so we trudged through the soft sand to the edge of the mouth of the lake and hop in and let the current take us speedily all the way to the ocean. iI was like being at the fun park.

Warana also brought one of our biggest challenges as they didn’t have a wi-fi connection. The solution was easy, just buy a portable modem? Well, here is the biggest problem, dealing with telephone companies who have their basis overseas! No need to explain further except that I had a very rare losing my cool moment!

It was a lovely casual beach home only 200 metres from the beach. But the best part was the connection we made with Brew. It only took a day for him to settle in and sleep with us and wake Jacky in the mornings with a kiss and a cuddle.

Jacky: I was so surprised that in a few short weeks we bonded so beautifully with Brew.  Living was simple in Warana and the beach was barren and unspoilt. Brew walked just in front of us, turning his head every few seconds to check where we were.  He paddled and chased his ball incessantly but we were never far from his sight.  In the evenings he would try and break the rules of lying on his towel at the end of the lounge and sneak his way along until he was cuddled by my side.  Such a pleasure to  befriend you Brew.
